STILLWATER, December 11, 2010- Mr. James Foley, author and international trade expert, is presenting his lecture, “Going Global: Tips for Success for Businesses and Students” at the Wes Watkins Center on Jan. 13, 2011 as part of the Wes Watkins Distinguished Lectureship Series.
This free event begins at 3:30 p.m. and is open to the public, and is especially suitable for business owners, students or other individuals interested in international trade.
Foley manages a program of counseling and training in international business planning, marketing, logistics and export finance at the Turner Center for Entrepreneurship and the Illinois SBDC International Trade Center at Bradley University. He is a frequent speaker on issues of international trade, and the author of The Global Entrepreneur, in which he discusses techniques to expand international trade for small and midsize companies.
“I hope that anyone interested in or involved in business will understand that if there is a demand for their product or service in the U.S. there is probably a demand for that same or similar product or service overseas,” said Dr. Mike Dicks, Wes and Lou Watkins chair of international trade and development. “They can discover through the Foley lecture, the mechanics of establishing that overseas market.”
During his lecture, attendees stand to gain information on how to expand business ventures as well as how students can become involved in international trade. Following Foley’s lecture, there will be a question and answer period.
